Still Locco

The relaxed, out of the way, feel of the current accommodation means we don't feel like rushing anywhere, so we don't 🙂.

By 10am we concluded we were ready to roll, and roll you must if you want to look around.

First, we went to Alberobello to see some of the old 'Trulli' house styles which are still copied around the district in modern homes (albeit much larger now).

We like to think the original architect (town handyman?) was called Mr Trulli. We wondered if his neighbour, or assistant was called Mr Really.
Once you leave the old UNESCO area and reach the main street through the wider area it looks more like this:
Tourists and food.

After a couple of hours the rain chased us back to the car.

Next we drove back to the town closest to our accommodation, Loccorotondo. It too has an old (storico) centre which is very pleasant to stroll through and to ponder lifestyles before vehicles.

However the more modern parts of the city (?) are again not all that inspiring.
Again the rain arrived so we returned home to cook our own pasta.

We have no plans for tomorrow yet so we will simply get in the car and head off in a different direction. 🙂
