Florence Day 1

Without much of a plan we headed out early. This meant we got into the Uffizi gallery easily a to 8.15am (pre booked was full).

There's a lot of 5-600 year old art, and copies, in this building.
Nice lady who didn't steal our phone took this one.
Genuine Michaelangelo.

Who knew the John Travolta's ancestors were Italian?
However, DAVID at the Galleria was mayhem with super long queues, which we don't do, so we headed to the nearest wine and cicchetti bar 😊.
After attending a few recommended leather outlets, without being convinced to buy;
 we headed to too the Palazzo Pitti, which was controlled by several wealthy families with the Medici being most recognizable to us. Without delving into how wealth is accumulated I feel grateful that these structures are built.
Today was very warm (28 degrees C) so we found a watering hole for some beer and limoncello spritz 👍 before returning to the city centre for a food tour.

Food tours are turning out to be one of the best ways to have the area described to you whilst being fed and watered well. We had a great evening moving around six different food outlets and meeting 7 new interesting travelers.
Oredering through a 'wine window ' ( from plague period, renewed for Covid, and now a good travel nicely).
Lovely foodie people.
