Last night's accommodation was the best on tour so far, and it will take some beating. Oddly it was also the 'cheapest', which is a relative term within Iceland, where nothing is actually cheap.
Best accommodation. This is just the book's cover.
After crossing a huge lifeless looking landscape (think lunar but covered in grey volcanic rock/gravel) we arrived at.... Another waterfall 😁
Tick. Moving on.
Next was a dormant volcano with a power station.
The main building was down the valley.
We then crossed the highway to more geothermal areas that we could walk around. Again they were OK but no better than NZ sites for the experience.
Icelandic pellets ... Away from the horrible smell.
The last call of the day was the natural heated pools in the North (Myvatn).
Tomorrow we head to the 'big' town of the north so may focus on discovering it rather than geographic wonders.
