Udaipur

After losing half of yesterday getting here we had a busy schedule in Udaipur, the lake city.

The smog is still appalling and blocking what should be lovely scenery. 

Nonetheless we visited the palace run by the current generation of the original Royal family here. I don't recall if it's a UNESCO site but it must be given its history and story.

Huge amounts of time have gone into carving and decorating.

We have been blasting around the old city in tuktuks (fortunately the van won't fit) which is just the greatest blast of an activity for any traveler. Don't be fooled by my only photo from an open street.

We took a boat ride on the lake, but it involved more queueing than boating.

Then a cultural dance show, which invited audience participation (Jane was our rep 😂).

Finally, rooftop dinner at a venue used by James Bond and Marigold Hotel.

Sleep was well earned today!
