Sangli Wedding Day

During the day we toured around Sangli discovering more about this 'small' town (350,000 population!) including trying McDonald's with it's twist on burgers with Indian cooking infusion.

The evening was reserved for the wedding celebrations, which are very different to formats that we use in New Zealand.

There is a loud MC who wouldn't be out of place in an Arise Church and a lot is done on stage and almost 50% of the audience called up to speak, or dance, or do both.

During the 'show' the audience seemed to constantly be on the move interacting with whomever they pleased, including the bride and groom.

It was interesting to observe but it also messed with ones Presbyterian training 🙂.

I didn't take as many photos this time, partly because we were often involved and partly because there were so many lighting units in the way, blocking line of sight for the best snap shots.

Almost all shops that we entered asked us to participate in photo moments for them to use in marketing. This was at a jewelery store, lighting their candle centrepiece in the front window.
