Sangli post wedding

Today was a more casual day but enjoyable all the same.

The Deshpande family again fed us at both lunch and dinner time, and by that I mean they instruct is to sit down and then they keep serving us!

We headed into 'town' to visit the local shops. They look unappealing from the street but once inside they are as good as any shopping experience anywhere in the world; often better and at prices that are very reasonable for a Kiwi budget.

The staff that you meet are so helpful. It reminds you what good service should feel like.

We then visited the local temple and the family explained it's significance to the area.

Next, at 8pm we went to a local drama theatre to watch an uncle perform a play (practice night). It was a great experience and not something a tourist would ever find.

Lastly, at 10pm!, a family friend here who is a dermatologist helped diagnose a skin problem that one of our travellers has (had for years) and promptly wrote him a prescription (no charge) and sent us off to the late night pharmacy. Quite extraordinary given that this traveller has struggled to find experts in NZ let alone get an appointment!
