Walking tours industry

Old Edinburgh really is the city of the walking tour. There are so many people being led around. We did two today! (Underground and Castle). Too dark for photos underground. The Edinburgh castle story is good, but frankly I find the visit a bit underwhelming. Our guide was a retired teacher/librarian type who seemed to be losing her memory. Long droning attempts to regurgitate Scottish history in the hot sun doesn't make for great tourism. Speaking of the tourists, there are more inside the castle than Disneyland on a free entry day! Nonetheless we have now had a thorough look around Old Edinburgh and parts of the new. We will do some more items tomorrow, Marie's birthday, before heading North the following day.
St Margaret in St Giles church
John Knox, the unpleasant founder of Presbyterian church movement.
Edinburgh castle and the masses
Mmm, no thanks.
The outdoor views are better.
