A day in Inverness

We enjoyed our day in Inverness.

Great cafe breakfast, found Nessie, learnt that bonnie Prince Charlie overestimated his potential to rule, visited Culloden fields, did a little shopping, bought some McLeod tartan and tried some (more) local guns.

It was good that the McLeod's stayed out of the Bonnie Prince's escapades because the Jacobites were rather smashed by the English government (led by Prince William, Duke of Cumberland) at Culloden.

Breakfast and a rare great coffeeNessie (tick)
Ness Coffee 😂
The Jacobites line (blue team). The last time most were standing together!
By mid 1700 field cannons were in common use.
Tartan research... There are many dozens, with several per clan depending on home village and activity!
Ancient McLeod. 👍
